WATCH: PM Modi holds candid interaction with school children in Varanasi, calls them “very talented”

“I was in the midst of those children for 10-15 minutes. During this I got an opportunity to see the talent of the children”

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his Varanasi visit on Thursday, inaugurated the largest Akshaya Patra Mid-Day Meal Kitchen in Uttar Pradesh. Though, the instance that grabbed everybody’s eye was a free-wheeling interaction between PM Modi and school children at the event.

The students present during the inauguration ceremony recited Vedic mantras, played the drums, and performed various difficult Yogasans.

PM Modi seemed happy on witnessing the talent of the young students studying in the Kashi Government School and was further seen holding a candid conversation with them.

After this, PM also inaugurated the three-day conference Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Samagam.

Expressing astonishment on the student’s talent and calibre, PM said that he is surprised to see the talent of 10-12 year old children studying in government schools of Kashi. Prime Minister further also expressed his wish to meet the teachers of the students.

“I was in the midst of those children for 10-15 minutes. During this I got an opportunity to see the talent of the children coming from very ordinary families. The talent of these young students from the government schools of Kashi has impressed me a lot”, he said.

PM Modi praises National Education Policy

PM Modi while elaborating on the features of the National Education Policy (NEP) said that the main basis of the newly launched policy is to take education out of narrow thinking and connect it with the ideas of the 21st century.

“There has never been a lack of merit in our country, but unfortunately we were given such a system, wherein the education was confined only to attain marks and a job”, he added.
