‘Wear masks, RT-PCR sampling among passengers arriving at International airports’: Union health min on Covid19 rise

Union health minister Mansukh Mandaviya made a statement on Covid19 rise in the Parliament.

New Delhi: Union Health minister Mansukh Mandaviya today said the government was keeping an eye on the global Covid19 surge in China and other parts of the country and are taking steps accordingly.

Union Health Minister said in the wake of the festive and new year season, states have been advised to make sure that people wear masks, use sanitizers and maintain social distancing. Also, awareness for precautionary doses are also being made.

He also informed the house that random RT-PCR sampling among passengers arriving at International airports in the country has been started.

Speaking in Lok Sabha,  he said from the last few days, Covid cases have been rising in the world but in India, the cases are depleting.

He said that India is seeing a rise covid19 cases and deaths due to it in China.

Minister also said that government is quite proactive in managing the Covid-19 pandemic.

He said the central govt has also provided financial assistance to states in fighting against the pandemic.

Talking about vaccination, he said so far, 220 crore covid vaccine shots have been given till now.

He said States have been advised to increase the genome sequencing to timely identify the new variant of Covid-19

He further said, the Government is committed to tackling the pandemic and are taking appropriate steps to control it.
