Mamata also questioned the decision of Election Commission to conduct the elections of West Bengal in eight phases. She said, “What was the need for an eight-phase election? It was done by BJP Mandal. Given the present situation (COVID), shouldn’t they have wrapped up the election within a short period of time?”

Elections
West Bengal will go into the third phase of voting on Tuesday with an important district of 24 Parganas which has 31 constituencies. 24 Parganas is a very significant seat for both TMC and BJP as Mamata’s nephew won the Diamond Harbor seat in the last elections by a margin of more than 3 lakh votes.
The results will be declared on May 2, 2021.
