Will win West Bengal on one leg and then Delhi with two legs: Mamata Banerjee

Speaking at the rally she also said that BJP does not have any local candidates because they have borrowed all their people from either TMC or CPM.

New Delhi: TMC chief Mamata Banerjee was addressing a rally in Debanandpur in Hooghly district on Monday when she said that she will win the West Bengal elections on ‘one leg’. She further said that after Bengal, she will win Delhi with two legs.

Mamata also questioned the decision of Election Commission to conduct the elections of West Bengal in eight phases. She said, “What was the need for an eight-phase election? It was done by BJP Mandal. Given the present situation (COVID), shouldn’t they have wrapped up the election within a short period of time?”

Speaking at the rally she also said that BJP does not have any local candidates because they have borrowed all their people from either TMC or CPM. She also said,”They’re sprinkling money like water from a hosepipe. They who can’t say Sonar Bangla properly, can’t rule Bengal.”

Elections

West Bengal will go into the third phase of voting on Tuesday with an important district of 24 Parganas which has 31 constituencies. 24 Parganas is a very significant seat for both TMC and BJP as Mamata’s nephew won the Diamond Harbor seat in the last elections by a margin of more than 3 lakh votes.

The results will be declared on May 2, 2021.
