Known by names like Little Master and Master Blaster, Sachin Tendulkar made a highly emotional speech at Wankheded stadium which made his fans go teary-eyed.

New Delhi: India’s Little Master Sachin Tendulkar bid adieu to the International cricket on this day 9 years ago i.e. on Nov 16, 2013. The cricketer who made the billion plus population fall in love with the sport and kept their unwavering attention throughout his career hanged up his boots on this day, after more than 2 decades of international cricket.

Known by names like Little Master and Master Blaster, Sachin Tendulkar made a highly emotional speech at Wankheded stadium which made his fans go teary-eyed. Like his exceptional cricketing career, it was also the most sentimental & moving speech made by any cricketer during his retirement.

While the nation recalls the day & emotional moment of Sachin calling it quits, videos of soul-stirring farewell speech is trending on social media.

Lot many fans also took to twitter to share their greetings & good wishes for the cricketer.

Sachin made this speech at Wankhede stadium after defeating West Indies by an innings. This was his farewell match at the home ground. He scored 74 runs in last Test and fell short of 79 runs to reach 16,000 runs in Test cricket.

Earlier, he announced retirement from One Day Internationals (ODIs) on Dec 12 and from T20 cricket in the same year.

Sachin had made his Test debut against Pakistan in year 1989, when he was just 16 years old. His ODI debut came in the same year. Though, he captained Team India for a brief period but the World Cup victory came when he was part of 2011 World Cup squad.

He has received series of awards for distinctive career including Arjuna Award, Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award and also honours like Padma Shri, Padma Vibhushan and Bharat Ratna.
