New Delhi: The Indian cricket team, after a successful outing in the white ball cricket against the Proteas, on their home turf, is now looking forward to the red ball cricket, as the matches test series between the two sides is set to kick start from Tuesday, December 26.
India is yet to register a test series win in South Africa, as their most successful outing there came in the Rainbow Nation in the 2010/11 series when the men in blue were able to finish the series in a draw.
Fans are eagerly waiting for the Indian team to create a new record, as they have the momentum on there after levelling the T20I series and winning the ODI series, already on their ongoing South African tour.

However, there is one more thing that is making the Indian fans even more excited, i.e., the return of their star duo, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, to the international circuit after exactly 37 days, since losing the 2023 ICC ODI World Cup finals against the Aussies on November 19.

Both Virat and Rohit have a die-hard fan following, and the return of the stars not only gives them an extra bit of joy while supporting the Indian team on the field, but also will prove a huge mental boost for the team itself to have players of Virat and Rohit’s stature back in the squad.
Virat and Rohit against Proteas in test
The Indian skipper Rohit Sharma has an extraordinary statistic against the Proteas in test matches, as the opener has amassed a total of 678 runs, in nine test matches with the help of three centuries.
However, Rohit stats against South Africa in the Rainbow Nation is underwhelming, as he has only 123 runs in four matches, with a highest score of 47.
On the other hand, Virat Kohli has a total of 1236 runs against the Proteas in the 24 test matches he has played so far, out of which 719 runs came from the seven matches he has played in the Rainbow Nation itself.
