India ‘A’ women team defeated the Bangladeshi counterpart by 31 runs. In the 20 overs match, Indian team put up a total of 127/7 runs and bundled out the entire Bangladeshi team at 96 runs.

The Women in Green, chasing a moderate target failed to 128 runs failed to put up a good batting display and its batting line-up collapsed against incisive bowling by Indians.

Mannat Kashyap, Shreyanka Patil and Kanika Ahuja delivered a spectacular show in bowling and scalped 3, 4 and 2 wickets respectively.

Earlier, the Indian women’s team showed some amazing team work and scored 127 runs in stipulated overs. Vrinda Dinesh and Kanika Ahuja were the highest scorers with 36 and 30 runs respectively.

Akin to batting, Bangladeshi bowlers couldn’t spin a good show and most of them ended up giving runs and unable to scalp wickets at the critical moments of game.

India’s march to final

India A women’s team was pitted against Sri Lanka in the semi-final. Though, the two sides locked horns but rain played spoilsport and India sailed into finals on back of good run rate.

The tournament has rather seen bizarre turn of events. Indian A women’s team has played just one game in the run-up to final as the raingods came rushing on almost every match. In that one untinkered match, India had defeated the hosts Hong Kong by 9 wickets.
