Under-19 World Cup 2022: India Vs England; 4 times when Men in Blue lifted the trophy

New Delhi: India is set to fight against England to claim the throne of the ICC Under-19 World Cup 2022 on Saturday for the 5th time. The match will begin at 6.30 pm at the Sir Vivan Richards Stadium in Antigua. The Men in Blue will mostly rely on its bowlers, while England will use its strength on the batting format. India is playing the Under-19 World Cup 2022 under the leadership of Yash Dhull.

1)Under-19 World Cup, 2000

India claimed its first title in 2000, playing under the captaincy of Mohammad Kaif. This was the match team India saw the potential of  Yuvraj Singh. India won the final of the Under-19 World Cup of 2000 by defeating Sri Lanka by 6 wickets in Colombo.

2) Under-19 World Cup, 2008

In 2008, India won the Under-19 World Cup for the second time by defeating South Africa. Reportedly, India defeated South Africa via the Duckworth-Lewis method (DLS). In that year, India got another talent in the form of Virat Kohli who also lead the team for the title match.

3) Under-19 World Cup, 2012

After 2008, India won the third title in the Under-19 World Cup format in 2012. In that match, Unmukt Chand led the team India against Australia. He also made a century.

India took over the title in the Under-19 World Cup for the last time in 2018 by defeating Australia. It was held in New Zealand’s Mount Maunganui. India made the skipper to Prithvi Shaw and the coach was Rahul Dravid.
