GT would like to improve its performance while MI is carrying the winning momentum.

New Delhi: Defending champions Gujarat Titans were beaten by Chennai Super Kings and now will be facing Mumbai Indians in Qualifier 2. GT would like to improve its performance while MI is carrying the winning momentum. MI produced an all-round performance and Akash Madhwal’s five-wicket haul was the highlight of the show in the Eliminator against LSG.

MI beat LSG by a huge margin of 81 runs and played well at the right stage of the tournament. On the other hand, GT has Shubman Gill to lead the batting line-up and Mohammed Shami, and Rashid Khan will the ball who will look to take GT into the finals.

When and where to watch the game?

The Qualifier 2 between Gujarat Titans and Mumbai Indians will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The match will begin on May 26 at 7:30 pm. Fans can watch the match on Star Sports Network on television while the tournament is streaming live on OTT on Jio Cinema for free.

Who is likely to play finals against CSK?

The winner of Qualifier 2 will play against CSK in the finals on May 28. The decisions of playing Darshan Nalkande in Qualifiers 1 in place of Yash Dayal, and sending in-form Vijay Shankar down the order did not work in the favour of GT. Shubman Gill has scored 722 runs in 15 innings at a strike rate of 149 and Titans would want him to step up once again. Mohammed Shami and Rashid Khan are leading the race for the Purple Cap and the inclusion of Mohit Sharma has worked in their way.

It will be a battle between MI’s batters and GT’s bowlers, and MI has Nehal Wadhera with Suryakumar Yadav and Cameron Green storming the stadium with their bats. While Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan’s inconsistency is a matter of concern MI still got a strong batting line-up. Piyush Chawla has been MI’s lead bowler with 21 wickets and Akash Madhwal has picked nine scalps in the last two games to strengthen their bowling.

It is likely to be a close fight and GT would like to exploit home advantage.
