IPL Rewind: From Virat Kohli to Suresh Raina, check out the top 5 run getters in IPL history

Virat Kohli is one of the only few batmen to represent only one team in the history of Indian Premier League.

New Delhi: Indian Premier League (IPL), is the biggest domestic T20 tournament in the cricketing world, because of its strong star cast and the level of competition involved in the tournament.

The sixteen seasons of the tournament have produced some of the greatest cricketing moments and have given birth to a number of stars throughout its journey.

The cash-rich tournament also attracts a lot of fans because of the level at which the BCCI organizes the tournament.

However, the tournament has also produced a number of individual performances, that will be remembered for a long period of time. Some players have only performed for a season or two, and then there are some players who have performed at the highest level in the tournament constantly.

These players, who have performed constantly, have been able to etch their name in the history books of the tournament.

Today in our IPL rewind story, let’s take a look at the Top 5 batsmen, who performed on a regular basis in the tournament and made it to the top 5 highest run-getters list of the tournament.

The southpaw from Uttar Pradesh, Suresh Raina, is also known as ‘Mr. IPL,’ for his consistency in the tournament.

Raina is one of the biggest reasons, why the Chennai Super Kings franchise, is more than a life team at the moment.

Raina was picked by CSK in 2008, and played with them till 2015, as the Yellow Army was suspended for two seasons after that.

Raina played for Gujrat Lions for two seasons, before returning back to CSK in 2018 and playing with them till 2021, before being released and later retired from the competition.

Raina, in his IPL career, has played a total of 205 matches, and, with the help of an impressive average of 32.51, has amassed a total of 5528 runs in his account.
