New Delhi: Ex-India selector Sunil Joshi has come out in defence of the BCCI after the board was criticised by all parts of the Indian sporting fraternity. Joshi has launched yet another cycle of criticism against India’s premier batsmen Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.
Joshi has slammed Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli for lack of responsibility and ordered them to stop hiding behind the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

The Indian batsmen were pathetic and poor to start with. Subsequently, they failed to find their footing in the three-match Test series against the New Zealand Cricket Team at home, and they struggled both against pace and spin bowling.
Joshi defends the BCCI for New Zealand series debacle
The former Indian cricket selector in his interview with the TOI stressed that the centre of the mud-slinging cannot be BCCI. Furthermore, Joshi added that:
Let’s not put everything on the BCCI. It’s individual responsibility as well. That’s what I want to stress more on. You know that you are going to play three Test matches, it’s going to be on turners, or it’s going to be on slow wickets…
Sunil Joshi further said that the only way for Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli to improve their game against spin is to go back to grinding in domestic cricket. The former India selector bluntly said that ‘nobody is bigger than the game’ and asked the players to prioritize the Ranji Trophy.

It was the first time in 12 years that the home dominance of the men in Blue was broken in their backyard. Naturally, against the Australians, it will be an even more tougher and challenging series in the upcoming Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024.
