New Delhi: Jammu & Kashmir’s para-cricketer Amir Hussain Lone on Monday expressed gratefulness to Gautam Adani foundation and also the billionaire businessman for extending a helping hand to him, days after his poignant video took the nation by storm.

The 34-year-old specially-abled cricketer from the hilly state is the captain of Jammu & Kashmir’s para cricket team. Having debuted in professional cricket in 2013, he has been an inspiration for umpteen number of youngsters, who dream of playing sport for the nation.

Talking to newsmen, he thanked businessman Gautam Adani and said that his dreams are finally getting fulfilled after years of hardship & struggle.

“I want to thank Gautam Adani, Dr Preeti and Gautam Adani Foundation that they are providing help to me. I had never thought this would happen…I had to struggle a lot in my life,” said Amir Hussain Lone.

Notably, Anantnag-based cricketer became an internet sensation when his video of playing cricket went viral on the social media. It drew the attention of many netizens, including the likes of cricketing icon Sachin Tendulkar.

Adani Group chairman Gautam Adani, after watching the cricketer’s video, saluted his undying spirit and love for the game and offered all possible assistance.

Re-tweeting the viral video, the business magnate had said, “Amir’s dedication for the sport and his spirit to not give-up in adverse situations makes him a big inspiration for the nation.”


He also said that Adani foundation will approach him and offer all possible assistance.
