Rohit Sharma refuses to entertain ‘uncomfortable’ question at India WC squad presser

While Rohit Sharma & chief selector Ajit Agarkar were announcing squad names, the duo were asked about public perception about the team and how they deal with it.

New Delhi: The Team India ODI squad announcement for the upcoming Cricket World Cup 2022 saw some ‘uncomfortable’ moments at the press conference, as the skipper Rohit Sharma lost his cool at a question, directed at him regarding Men in Blue’s performance during big world tournaments like this.

While Rohit Sharma & chief selector Ajit Agarkar were announcing squad names, the duo were asked about public perception about the team and how they deal with it.

Rohit, visibly livid, snapped at the scribe and said that he wouldn’t entertain such questions.

“I have said this so many times. We don’t care what happens on the outside. All the players in our team are professional. Don’t ask me such questions. I won’t ask such questions. It doesn’t make sense to talk about such things,” India today portal quoted him as saying.

The 15-member Indian squad announced today will prepare for the biggest cricketing extravaganza later this year. Though, the absence of some crucial players like R Ashwin or Sanju Samson has ignited debate on social media but this squad is done & dusted.

The team more or less looks similar, as the one playing in the Asia Cup. Rohit though had a word for those who missed out but asserted that this was the “best of 15 we could have got”.

Rohit’s death stare to Thakur

Yesterday, a video of furious & raging Rohit Sharma grabbed many eyeballs as he was caught on camera giving a death stare to fellow teammates including Shardul Thakur apparently over sloppy fielding.

While Hardik Pandya & Thakur walked past, the skipper watched them furiously, thus drawing many reactions from netizens after the video went viral.

In match against Nepal yesterday, Team India dropped 3 matches in the powerplay overs, thus allowing the former to score big total. Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan were the three players who seemingly missed easy catches.
