WATCH: Fan intrudes cricket field to hug King Kohli, latter’s reaction is winning internet

In the video, the cricket fan could be seen suddenly trespassing into cricketing field while Kohli was fielding at the boundary.

New Delhi: A cricket fan barged into the field during India-Afghanistan Twenty20 match, apparently with a motive to greet his sporting icon Virat Kohli and was subsequently apprehended by security officials on Sunday.

A video of the incident landed on social media and is getting widely circulated, more so for the touching gesture by King Kohli.

In the video, the cricket fan could be seen suddenly trespassing into cricketing field while Kohli was fielding at the boundary. The fan approaches Kohli, touches his feet and then also tries to give him a hug. The man was quickly apprehended by securitymen.

The incident happened during the second T20 match between Team India & Afghanistan last night in Indore. The security breach by the overzealous cricket fan created a security scare and was quickly whisked away by the officials. He was further taken to police station for questioning.

Kohli’s words winning the internet

The man detained for trespassing, was further taken to Tukoganj police station for questioning. Initial probe suggested that he had a bought a ticket for the match and jumped the fence of spectator’s gallery with an intention to meet & greet the Indian batter in person.


However, what’s winning the internet is Kohli’s considerate & compassionate gesture towards the fan. In couple of videos shared online, Kolhi could be heard saying, ‘aaram se, aaram se’.


He was reportedly telling the security men to deal with the fan gently.

What happened in Indore T20?

Indore T20 was the second match between India & Afghanistan. India won the match by 6 wickets and registered a clear victory in three-game T20 series against the visitors.

Kohli, who was playing his first T20 after almost 14 months scored 29 runs off 16 balls, however, fellow Rohit Sharma fell for a duck.
