New Delhi: In the opening match of Border Gavaskar trophy, Ravindra Jadeja stole the limelight with his impressive show against the Aussies and also attracted fair share of controversy over an Australian channel accusing him of ball tampering as the latter was seen rubbing some mysterious substance.
Jadeja along with Ravichandra Ashwin picked up 8 wickets and bundled the visitors at mere 177 runs. Jadeja’s return to the pitch with a bang was hailed & lauded by many sportspersons and cricket fans, as this was his 1st first-class match after injury. Netizens praised the all-rounder for rattling the Aussies in the high-stakes Test match.
However, Jadeja was in for an embarrassing moment at the press conference, which he addressed after the day’s match. He just escaped the awkward moment by a whisker, as he was about to speak cuss word but restrained himself in the final moment.
The all-round had this near-awkward moment while speaking about the Kanpur pitch, where India took on New Zealand.

Jadeja was asked about his views on Williamson-Latham partnership, to which he said, “Kahin na kahin to aisa lag raha tha ki turning track pe partnership break hone ke baad, naya batsman koi bhi jayega toh uske liye footmarks dekh ke udhar hi unki… matlab…woh…udhar hi woh thoda ghabra jayega ki itne footmarks samne hai. Wo ekdum hi confidently defend nahi kar payenge.
While Jadeja carefully caught hold of his words, the journalists broke into laughter, understanding what he was about to speak. Cricketer was also seen chuckling in the video.
