Twitter restores ‘Blue Tick’ for users with over 1 million followers: Reports

As per the report by Rolling Stone, the microblogging platform gave the verification mark to personalities with over one million followers.

New Delhi: Elon Musk’s Twitter removed the blue ticks from many accounts, which made the headlines as celebrities and personalities from various fields lost the verification mark on the microblogging site. Actors from Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan to sports persons Virat Kohli, Cristiano Ronaldo and others lost their blue ticks. However, Twitter has now restored the blue tick of users with over a million followers.

As per the report by Rolling Stone, the microblogging platform gave the verification mark to personalities with over one million followers. Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra, Virat Kohli and others got their blue tick back.

While there was a meme fest and hilarious reactions by celebs on blue tick is removed, the latest update of verification restoration was also received with some funny remarks. Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan, who complained to Musk about taking away his blue tick, thanked him in a unique way.

Actor Priyanka Chopra wrote that she is Priyanka again while former cricketer Aakash Chopra wrote that his blue tick was restored despite him paying for it.

A fan page of actor Nayanthara also got the blue tick.

Former Jammu and Kashmir CM Omar Abdullah asked CEO Elon Musk if he is paying for his blue tick.

Earlier, Twitter launched of paid subscription service Twitter Blue, for people to subscribe to get the verification mark next to their profile. The step was not received well and many celebs refused to subscribe to the service. Elon Musk made a statement where he said that he will pay for the Twitter Blue subscription for basketball star LeBron James, actor William Shatner and author Stephen King.
