New Delhi: The auspicious festival of Makar Sankranti also known as the Harvest Festival of India will be celebrated on 15th January. On this day people take holy dip in river ganga and distributes sweets and other things to the poor and in the temples. People also eat khichdi and wear new clothes on this day. The day marks the end of the Kharmas month and people can carry on with their pending works like buying a new car, a new house, grih pravesh ceremony which were halted due to the Kharmaas month. Special offering of khichdi will be served to the deities in the temple.
