New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi flagged off the first Vande Bharat Express Train of Assam on Monday through video conferencing. The train will connect Guwahati to New Jalpaiguri in West Bengal covering a distance of 411 km in just five hours and thirty minutes. The train will reduce the travel time between Guwahati and New Jalpaiguri and will be tourism friendly. The train will run six days a week, except on Monday. PM Modi expressed his happiness on flagging off the first Vande Bharat Express train of Assam and said it will promote tourism in the state. The train will also give a push to the social and economic development in the Northeastern state.
