New Delhi: On Tuesday, the BJP and its followers reacted angrily to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s vacation to Nepal for a friend’s wedding, with many of them criticizing the politician for attending a reception while criticizing the government on social media. The Congress, on the other hand, retorted that visiting a friendly country to attend a friend’s wedding was not yet a crime and that it was far less egregious than Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s surprise visit to former Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s daughter’s wedding in 2015.”Unlike PM Modi, Rahul Gandhi has not gone to Pakistan as an uninvited guest to slice a cake with Nawaz Sharif, and we know what’s happened in Pathankot,” Congress spokesman Randeep Surjewala said at a press conference.
