What is Operation Kaveri, how India moving its citizens from Sudan’s war zone?

India started Operation Kaveri on Monday to bring back trapped Indians from violence-torn Sudan.

New Delhi: India launched ‘Operation Kaveri’ in order to evacuate its people as well as those of neighboring South Asian countries from conflict-torn Sudan. So far, two Indian C-130J planes and an Indian naval ship have evacuated 534 persons from Sudan into Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, from wherein they would depart for India shortly.

India started Operation Kaveri on Monday to bring back stranded Indians from violence-torn Sudan. Sudan has been experiencing a pitched battle between the regular army and a paramilitary group in recent days. The conflict stems from a power struggle between the army and a paramilitary organization.
