‘Salaam Taliban’ sung at Pakistan’s women madrasa, inviting sharp reactions from Afghans (Watch)

The celebration of Taliban’s take-over received major backlash from Afghans after the video went viral on social media.

New Delhi: Jamia Hafsa – a seminary in Pakistan’s Islamabad, hoisted Taliban flag at its rooftop on Saturday, Aug 21. The flag was hoisted in the event organized by the madrasa to celebrate insurgent group Taliban’s take over in Afghanistan.

Students of Jamia Hafsa were also seen singing ‘Salaam Taliban’, praising the terror group for its invasion, in a video clip shared by Pakistani journalist Roohan Ahmed.

Ahmed wrote, sharing the video in his tweet, “The students of Jamia Hafsa, a seminary linked with Islamabad’s Lal Masjid, are singing a song ‘Salam Taliban’ in an event celebrating the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan”.

The incident received major backlash from Afghans after the video went viral on social media. Reacting to the video, Afghan journalist and activist Habib Khan said, “Let Pakistanis celebrate the invasion of Afghanistan, for now. Eventually, Afghans will liberate their land and expel them like the rest of the invaders. Remember, Pakistan will break into pieces”.

An another user commented, “What they have created will eat Pakistan first, then spread into Central Asia and then the rest of the Muslim world”.

However, the flags were later taken down after intervention by the city administration.
