US sees record increase in Covid cases, Florida worst-affected; refrigerated coolers used to store bodies

The report said that overall 66% of Floridians are fully vaccinated, but that percentage however dropped to 47% for 20-29-year-olds.

The United States is witnessing increase in the number of Covid19 patients being hospitalised in recent weeks. Florida is one of the worst-affected state, it is not only reporting highest number of covid patients being admitted to the hospital but also succumbing to their deaths.

According to reports, more than 200 Covid-19 fatalities are being reported on average from Florida each day this week.

Earlier this week, the number of people in the hospital with coronavirus infection was around 85,000.

Johns Hopkins University data shows that hospitalizations are at a record high in Florida.

Central Florida’s AdventHealth has reached full capacity at its hospital morgues after covid deaths, WFTV-9 reported Thursday.

According to reports,  rented, refrigerated coolers  are being used at 10 campuses throughout Orange, Osceola, Polk, Seminole, & Volusia counties. These coolers are getting filled quickly.

However, AdventHealth didn’t specifically address the rented coolers.

The report said that overall 66% of Floridians are fully vaccinated, but that percentage however dropped to 47% for 20-29-year-olds.

Florida is reporting an average about 21,000 new cases, 17,000 hospitalizations, and 200 deaths per day.

In March 2020, hospitals also used refrigerated trucks as temporary morgues in New York City.
