New Delhi: Months after gracing the theaters, Pranay Meshram’s Nushrratt Bharuccha starrer film Akelli is landing on OTT.
From May 3, 2024, the survival-thiller will become available for streaming on Jio Cinema, allowing the platform’s subscribers to enjoy it from the comfort of their homes.
Akelli OTT Release Date Announcement
Taking to its Instagram handle, Jio Cinema, on Wednesday, officially confirmed that Akelli will arrive on the platform from 3rd May 2024.
While the digital giant made the official announcement about the film’s OTT release, it also dropped its intriguing trailer with a caption that read, “Trapped. Alone. Outmatched. Witness Jyoti fight for her life in an epic survival story. Akelli streaming from 3rd May, exclusively on JioCinema Premium. ”

Plot
Released in theaters back in August 2023, Akelli tells the story of a Punjabi Lady Jyoti (Nushrrat) who stays abroad and is away from her family.
Although her family in India thinks that she is residing somewhere in Oman’s capital Muscat, Jyoti secretly works as an employee in a cloth factory situated in Iraq’s Mosul City.
Along with her job, she also spends time with the factory’s manager Rafique (Nishant Dhaiya), a Pakistani guy with a sweet personality.
However, the woman’s peaceful life takes a drastic turn one day when ISIS-based terrorists invade Mousol and capture her along with many others.
How she desperately struggles to stay alive and manages to escape from the deadly clutches of the insurgents is the remaining story of the film.

Starring dream girl fame Nushrratt Bharucch and Tsahi Halevi in lead roles, Akelli features a talented cast of Amir Boutrous, Piloo Vidyarthi, Mannat Duggal, Ward Musharafieh, Merve Ozel amongst others in pivotal roles.
It is produced by Aparna Padgaonkar, Shashant Shah, and 2 others under the banner of Dashami Studioz.
