Ronja The Robber’s Daughter (originally Ronja Rövardotter) is a new live-action series that Netflix is releasing based on the acclaimed book Ronia, The Robber’s Daughter by Astrid Lindgren.
In an ancient Scandinavian castle, a band of robbers bring up a young girl. Along her journey through family, friends, and the untamed grandeur of the dark forest, Ronja will experience both amazing adventures and touching moments.
Plot
A thrilling story of friendship, rebellion, and adventure unfolds in Ronja the Robber’s Daughter. Ronja, who is brought up by a band of bandits, navigates a forest that is both enchanting and perilous, full of wonder and mystery. She meets Birk, a gang member from the other side, and the two of them get into an argument that might split their families apart. To live in the bush and create their own fate, Ronja and Birk must form a bond while a clever sheriff shows up to apprehend the robbers.
With majestic mountains and gushing waterfalls serving as a background, the series trailer is stunning. The setting is accompanied by the swooping of eagles, suggesting an exciting journey ahead.
When and Where to Watch?
Two parts will premiere on Netflix in 2024 for the Ronja the Robber’s Daughter series: Part 1 will premiere on March 28, and Part 2 will premiere later this year.

The cast includes Kerstin Linden as Ronja, Christopher Wagelin, Krista Kosonen, Sverrir Gudnason, Maria Nohra, Pernilla August, Vera Vitali, Johan Ulvesson, and Jack Bergenholtz-Henriksson.
Hans Rosenfeldt penned the script and Filmlance produced the two-part live-action adaptation of the cherished Swedish classic.
