The Final: Attack on Wembley OTT Release Date: Football fans get ready to watch this dramatic sports documentary

The Final: Attack on Wembley OTT Release Date: A highly anticipated documentary titled The Final: Attack on Wembley will make its Netflix premiere on May 8, 2024.

New Delhi: In the Netflix documentary – The Final: Attack on Wembley, the violent supporters of the English football team disrupted the first big international cup final in decades.

The film premieres a month before the 2024 European Championships in France and chronicles the journey of the English men’s football team to their first major final since the famous 1966 World Cup victory at Wembley. However, the World Cup quickly spiralled into turmoil when the ticketless people swarmed the stadium.

An official investigation discovered that little children cried as adults did drugs in front of them and that supporters who protested racial insults and bad language were threatened with violence. It attributed this to redeploying several stewards from the inside stadium to guard the turnstiles and pass gates.

Proposed penalties include a fine of up to £1,000 and the possibility of a football banning order for anybody obtaining unauthorised access to grounds. The proposed legislation amends the Football (Offences) Act 1991 to make it a crime to enter a football match without permission or to attempt to do so.

Netflix has officially announced that Attack on Wembley will be available for streaming on May 8.

About the Documentary

The documentary chronicles the 2021 European Championships between Italy and the English men’s national football team, which took place at Wembley on July 11. As Gareth Southgate’s team continued to impress, the country longed for the return of international football.

Officially, 67,173 people showed up even though a restricted number of tickets were offered due to COVID-19 regulations. Thousands of England supporters, including many thousand without tickets, flocked to Wembley Stadium as the anticipation and excitement grew.

There was a clash between ticketless supporters and administrators and police officials outside Wembley Stadium only a few hours before kick-off as many tried to force their way into the stadium. Hundreds of people who did not have tickets reportedly made it inside the stadium, according to eyewitness accounts.

Evidence connected almost 9,000 instances of COVID-19 to the 2020 European Championship, with over 5,000 of those cases being associated with the final event. This information was revealed one month after the match. And so, ends the epic account of a day when a country was left reeling after it started with extreme joy.
