Conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar, his wife actor Leena Maria Paul and six others have been charged a 7,000-page chargesheet by the Enforcement Directorate for the country’s biggest extortion case. Reportedly, in an alleged Rs 200-crore money laundering case, the ED stated that Sukesh had gifted a horse worth Rs 52 lakh and a Persian cat valued at Rs 9 lakh to the actress Jacqueline Fernandez. The prime accused also stated that he gifted Nora Fatehi a luxury car.
For the unversed, Jacqueline and Nora have been summoned by ED in October to help the interrogation regarding the country’s biggest extortion case.
As per the chargesheet, the conman revealed that he had gifted gifts worth Rs 10 crore to Jacqueline. The gifts include diamond-studded jewellery sets, crockery, four Persian cats (each cat costs around Rs 9 lakh), and a horse worth Rs 52 lakh.
Earlier, a picture of Sukesh and Jacqueline had gone viral where the conman was seen kissing the cheeks of the actress while taking a mirror selfie.
In October, Jacqueline appeared before the ED in connection to the money laundering case against the conman. The actress’s spokesperson while responding to the claims stated, “Jacqueline Fernandez is being called to testify as a witness by the ED. She has duly recorded her statements and in future will also be completely co-operating with the agency in the investigations.”
The ED claimed that Sukesh had promised a hefty amount of money to Jacqueline, Nora, and film director Sajid Nadiadwala.
Sukesh wanted to launch his wife, who is a Malayalam actress into a Bollywood movie. In the film Madras Café, Lenna had played a role for which Sukesh paid a huge amount of money. To bring his wife into Bollywood, Sukesh also spoke with many producers and directors and stated them that they do not need to worry about money.
Currently, Sukesh and his wife are in ED remand. Besides, it is said that Sukesh has spent crores to live comfortably in Tihar Jail.
