A Delhi court had last week issued a fresh death warrant against the four death-row convicts in a Nirbhaya rape case who will now be executed on February 1 at 6 am.
The tweet was uploaded in response to the interview of Nirbhaya's mother where she criticised prominent persons for politicising the death of her daughter.
As per the Delhi Prison rule 840, the jail authorities are supposed to write to the Delhi government seeking a response whether the date of execution be postponed.
Lau asked the investigating officer in the case to put on record all the evidence which showed that Azad was giving "incriminatory" speeches at Jama Masjid, and any law which showed that the gathering there was unconstitutional.
In December last year, Tihar Jail officials had written a letter to prison authorities in Uttar Pradesh asking them to provide two hangmen to carry out the execution of convicts in the 2012 Delhi gang-rape case.
It claimed that the boy accompanying Nirbhaya in the bus turned the case into a "media trial" by charging money from the news channels to give interviews.
All the six accused in the case were arrested and charged with sexual assault and murder.
