Kangana Ranaut praises Queen Elizabeth, amid Meghan-Oprah interview

Kangana tweeted as a reaction to the latest controversy surrounding the Buckingham Palace after former Prince Harry and Meghan Markle gave an interview to American talk-show host Oprah Winfrey.

New Delhi: Kangana Ranaut on Friday tweeted a collage of photos of the Royal Family. In the tweet she said, “We can’t play every role to perfection even if we excel at one should be enough. She saved the crown. Let her retire like a Queen.”

Kangana tweeted as a reaction to the latest controversy surrounding the Buckingham Palace after former Prince Harry and Meghan Markle gave an interview to American talk-show host Oprah Winfrey. Kangana in her tweet supported Queen Elizabeth by saying, “She is a great Queen,she carried forward her father’s dream, saved the crown better than any son could have. We can’t play every role to perfection even if we excel at one should be enough. She saved the crown. Let her retire like a Queen.”

In the interview with Oprah, Meghan talked about the racism that goes on in the Royal Family along with sharing the time when she was having suicidal thoughts.

Meghan said she tried and failed to appeal to a senior staff member along with the palace’s human resources department for psychiatric help, but she wasn’t offered any support.
“I went to the institution, and I said that I needed to go somewhere to get help. I said that ‘I’ve never felt this way before, and I need to go somewhere.’ And I was told that I couldn’t — that it wouldn’t be good for the institution,” Meghan revealed.

The controversy has already led to the resignation of ‘Good Morning Britain’ host Morgan Piers after he said that he doesn’t believe a word said by Markle. His comments led to his public criticism of the show and channel ITV also. ITV received more than 40,000 complaints against the particular episode of the show and even Meghan filed a complaint saying Piers mocked her mental health.

Whereas, Prince William responded on Friday saying, “We are very much not a racist family.”

Queen Elizabeth also issued a statement, “Issued raised, particularly that of race are concerning, recollections may vary.”
