3 FIRs against AAP’s Sanjay Singh for comments against Yogi

Sanjay Singh has come under fire for making controversial remarks at Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government as three FIRs have been filed against him in the matter.

The AAP leader was booked for accusing the Yogi govt of being ‘pro-Thakur’ and insulting Dalits by not inviting President Ram Nath Kovind to the Ram Mandir’s bhoomi pujan ceremony in Ayodhya earlier this month.

He was booked under sections 153-A (promoting enmity between different groups on ground of religion) and 505 (1)(b) (with intent to cause, or which is likely to cause, fear or alarm to the public) of IPC in Aligarh, Lakhimpur Kheri and Muzaffarnagar on complaints filed by three local residents.

In the FIR, the complainants have accused the MP of spreading hatred among the public on the basis of caste and religion. They have also alleged that the AAP leader tried to incite various Hindu castes against the Uttar Pradesh government.
