New Delhi: Expressing concern over exponential rise in India’s population, BJP MP from Mandsaur Sudhir Gupta blamed ‘people like Aamir Khan for population imbalance’ in the country.
Sudhir Gupta, apparently known for off the cuff remarks, said this in an interaction with a leading news channel.
“Talking in Indian perspective, it is Aamir Khan, whose first wife Reena with two kids and second wife Kiran Rao with one kid, has been left to wander around by him who is unbothered and has started the search for the third wife,” said Gupta.
“It’s unfortunate that people like Aamir Khan have a role to play behind population imbalance in the country,” said Gupta.

Gupta’s comments came in the backdrop of UP CM Yogi Adityanath unveiling new population policy for the state for 2021-2030.
Yogi govt has set a population policy target of bringing down fertility rate to 2.1% by 2026 and to 1.9% 2030.
On Pakistan
The BJP MP said that the country population has soared to abnormal high of 140 crore mark while the land territory has remained static and this is not a good news.
“During the partition, Pakistan got vast portion of the land but comparatively lesser population and that too had forced large chunk of the population back into India without partaking any land in lieu if the same,” Gupta said.
