Doubling Covid beds, oxygen plants & medicines availability: CM Yogi’s elaborate plan to fight pandemic

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has issued directions in this regards asking the Medical Education Minister to increase the facilities of GSV Medical  College, Rama Medical College, and Naraina Medical College in Kanpur. 

New Delhi: The capacity of ICU and isolation beds in the 12 most-affected districts of the state including Lucknow, Prayagraj, Moradabad, Jhansi, Kanupar will be doubled with immediate effect.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has issued directions in this regards asking the Medical Education Minister to increase the facilities of GSV Medical  College, Rama Medical College, and Naraina Medical College in Kanpur.

In pursuance of the CM’s order to set up 10 new oxygen plants at different locations of the state, a liquid oxygen plant of 20 thousand liters has been installed in SGPGI in the state capital within the stipulated time frame. Along with this, DRDO is also lending support in setting up another nine new oxygen plants.

The CM has also directed the top officials to maintain the availability of oxygen in line with the projected demand for the next 15 days. CM has also issued orders to maintain minimum of 36 hours of oxygen backup in each hospital of the state.

Addressing the high-level Covid Review meeting, the CM has instructed the Department of Food Safety and Drug Administration to keep a constant watch on the availability of various medicines, including Remdesivir. He asked the Health Minister to keep an eye on the availability of medicines and the entire chain of supply.

Fire safety measures in all the hospitals

Taking note of the fire incident in one of the hospitals in Chattisgarh, the CM directed to test fire safety equipment in all government and private medical institutions of the state.
