ED attaches 74 immovable properties of SLO Industries worth Rs 82.83 crore in bank fraud case

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had registered a case against Chennai-based SLO Industries & Aran Steels Pvt Ltd on charges of causing a loss of about Rs 201 crores to Corporation Bank.

New Delhi: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has provisionally attached 74 immovable properties and 8 movable properties (Vehicles) held in the name of M/s SLO Industries Ltd and its owners totaling Rs 82.83 crore for money laundering in a bank fraud case. These assets belong to accused Anil Kumar Ojha, Director of M/s SLO Industries Ltd, Chennai and other Directors which are located at Thiruvottiyur, Kilpauk, Kodambakkam, Gooumudipondi, Sollinganallur, Periyamet, PammalKanchipuram of Tamil Nadu State, Krishna District of Andhra Pradesh State, Churu, Bikaner, Jaipur of Rajasthan State.

ED initiated investigations under the provisions of PMLA based on FIR of CBI.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had registered a case against Chennai-based SLO Industries & Aran Steels Pvt Ltd on charges of causing a loss of about Rs 201 crores to Corporation Bank.

The investigating agency also booked its promoters and conducted searches at five locations in the city that belonged to them.

Investigation conducted under PMLA revealed that M/s SLO Industries Ltdhad availed LCs from the Corporation Bank, Kellys Corner Branch, Chennaiin the name of M/s SLO Industries Ltd by furnishing forged/ fabricated documents.

Investigation further revealed that the accused havea cquired immovable properties and movable properties in the name of M/s SLO Industries Ltd, Anil kumarOjha, SunithaOjha,ArunKumar Sharma, Mamta Sharma, Ashok Kumar Sharma, M/s SLO Steels Ltd, Mahalakshmi Steels and M/s SLO BuldconPvt. Ltd to disguise their origin and were being projected as untainted Properties.These identified immovable and movable properties are located in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Rajasthan. On identification of these properties totaling to Rs. 82.83 Crore, they were provisionally attached under PMLA.
