New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, replying to the Motion of No-Confidence, spoke at length in Lok Sabha over Manipur crisis while addressing a plethora of other issues.
PM Modi lambasted the Opposition for politicizing the ethnic strife & violence in Manipur and also made an appeal to the citizens to move forward as cohesive unit at a time, when the nation is taking rapid strides towards progress.
Expressing solidarity with the North-East people, PM Modi said that the ‘region was our jigar ka tukda’ and assured that peace will soon return to Manipur.
After PM’s rejoinder, the no-trust motion was set to be put for voting but the Opposition members walked out of House. As a result, the No-Trust Motion fell flat, allowing easy victory to BJP-led NDA govt.
According to political experts, had there been voting after No-Trust vote, this could have been most decisive victory of Modi govenrment. This time, the winning margin would have been bigger than all earlier occasions.
