PM Modi is making money for the crony capitalists: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi

The Central government on Sunday invited farmer leaders for a fresh round of talks amid attempts to end the agitation. The government has held several rounds of talks with the farmers so far.

New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is making money for the crony capitalists. He further said that whoever will try to stand against him will be called terrorists – be it farmers, labourers and even Mohan Bhagwat.

Rahul Gandhi said, “I want to tell the PM that these farmers are not going to go back home until these farm laws are repealed. Govt should convene a joint session of Parliament and take back these laws. Opposition parties stand with farmers & labourers.”

“Govt needs to convene joint session of Parliament, If PM does not take these farm laws back, country will suffer,” said Rahul Gandhi.

A delegation from the Indian National Congress comprising  Rahul Gandhi,  Ghulam Nabi Azad and Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury called on President Kovind at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Farmers are protesting at the borders of Delhi since November 26 against the Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020; the Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Act, 2020; and the Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act, 2020.

On December 8, Union Home Minister Amit Shah had held a meeting with the 13 representatives of farm unions. However, a day later, farmer leaders rejected a proposal sent by the Centre.
