Pranab Mukherjee in deep coma, on ventilator support, says Army Hospital

The former President had tested positive for COVID-19 and undergone surgery for a brain clot at Army Hospital (R&R) on August 10. 

New Delhi: Former President Pranab Mukherjee continues to be in deep coma and on ventilator support, according to the Army Research and Referral (R&R) Hospital on Wednesday.

“Pranab Mukherjee is being treated for lung infection. His renal parameters are slightly deranged since yesterday. He continues to be in deep coma and on ventilator support,” the hospital said in a statement.

The former President had tested positive for COVID-19 and undergone surgery for a brain clot at Army Hospital (R&R) on August 10.

There is no change in the medical condition of former president Pranab Mukherjee since Monday and he continues to be on ventilator support.

“There is no change in the medical condition of Hon’ble Pranab Mukherjee since yesterday. He continues to be on ventilator support and his vital parameters are stable,” Army Research and Referral (R&R) Hospital said on Tuesday in its update. The former President had undergone surgery for a brain clot at the Army Hospital earlier this month.
