New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday released its first list of candidates for the upcoming Assembly elections in Rajasthan. The party released list of 41 candidates and this includes many heavyweights including Member of Parliaments (MPs) including Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Kirori Lal Meena & more.

Earlier in the day, the Election Commission announced election dates for all five states headed for polls including Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana & Mizoram.
The BJP has pulled out all efforts to save its government in party-ruled state Madhya Pradesh and topple Congress-ruled govts in Rajasthan & Chhattisgarh.
The party has fielded many of its national faces including the Parliamentarians in Assembly elections. Political commentators believe that this move is to buffer the anti-incumbency wave in Shivraj-led Madhya Pradesh.
In Rajasthan, the saffron party wants to channel the public’s anger & disillusion with Ashok Gehlot-ledCong regime by fielding national leaders while also keeping regional satraps in check. Remember, Vasundhara Raje, one of party’s Chief Ministerial probable, remains on the sidelines and this shows the intent of top leadership that elders won’t be entitled for ‘free ride’ unless they contribute in increasing party’s clout in the state. The BJP today released its third list of candidate for Madhya Pradesh elections and this includes incumbent Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Home Minister Narottam Mishra and others.
CM Shivraj is set to conest from Budhni, Narottam Mishra to contest from Datia while other known faces Gopal Bhargava has been fielded from Rehli, Vishwas Sarang from Narela and Tulsiram Silavat from Sanwer
