Snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir: From bringing normal life to standstill to blocked highway (Pics/Videos)

The locals here claimed that the air traffic has also been affected due to heavy snowfall in Srinagar.

New Delhi: Normal life has been affected in Srinagar and in the nearby areas after heavy snowfall and inclement weather conditions on Monday.

Due to the weather condition, the University of Kashmir also postpone all postgraduate, engineering, and other examinations that were scheduled for today.

With fresh snowfall on Monday morning in Srinagar, the mercury also dropped to a minimum of -2 degrees celsius on Sunday night.

Train and air services were also affected in several areas. The Srinagar-Jammu National Highway was closed due to snowfall and landslides.

The locals here claimed that the air traffic has also been affected due to heavy snowfall in Srinagar.

Heavy snowfall disturbed normal day-to-day activity on  the final day of the ‘Chilla-i-Kalan.’ Chillai Kalan is a time period of about 40 days when Kashmir faces its harshest winter. It is said to begin on December 21 and ends on January 31 of the next year

Hashtag snowfall is also trending on Twitter as social media users share experiences and tourists and people share their beautiful pictures and videos.
