
New Delhi: Ministry of Electronics and IT (MEITY) directed Twitter to block around 250 Tweets/Twitter accounts that were using the #ModiPlanningFarmerGenocide hashtag & making fake, intimidatory & provocative Tweets on Jan 30.
This was done on the request of Ministry of Home Affairs and law enforcement agencies to prevent any escalation of law and order in view of the on-going farmer agitation, as per Sources

Incitement to genocide is a grave threat to public order & therefore the Ministry of Electronics & IT ordered for blocking of these Twitter accounts & Tweets under Section 69A of the Information Technology Act. Twitter has blocked these Tweets/Twitter Accounts, Sources said
It seems that the following accounts are not available in India: @imMAK02s, @thecaravanindia, @Kisanektamorcha, @manavijyan, @derasachasauda, @Bkuektaugrahan, @tractor2twitr, @aartic02, @sushant_says, @salimdotcomrade, @sanjukta, @HansrajMeena, @EpicRoflDon, @shashidigital . The last in this list – Shashi Digital – belongs to the CEO of Prasar Bharati CEO Shashi Shekhar.
