
New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna presented Yogi govt 2.0’s second Budget on Wednesday and announced slew of proposals to scale up job creation & also speed up infrastructure development.
With outlays of Rs 6.90 lakh crore and being dubbed as state’s biggest Budget so far, the Yogi government has stepped up its focus on youth, women empowerment and jobs generation.
While presenting the State Budget, Finance Minister also informed the house about big-ticket deals signed during UP Global Investors Summit, amounting to Rs 33.5 lakh crore and how state govt is working to implement it on ground.
Going by state govt’s intent & funds outlays, Tourism is set to emerge as the bellwether sector which will see big-ticket investments and will also turn out to be job-spinner in years to come.
Yogi government has set an ambitious investment target of Rs 10 lakh crore for augmenting tourism industry in the state and going by estimates, it hopes to create 20,000 jobs in next 5 years, under UP Tourism Policy 2022.

Finance Minister also underlined the state government’s priorities in building series of corridors for easy access to religious places.
In the annual Budget, the Finance Minister said that Rs 2,538 crore was being proposed for widening/strengthening of roads. A proposed investment of Rs 1,000 crore was also announced to promote religious tourism in the state. These roads leading to religious places will be called ‘Dharmarth Marg’.
Religious tourism is set to see manifold increase in the state, owing to construction of Ram Temple and an International airport, the deadline for which has been set by late 2023. Post the inauguration of Kashi corridor, the influx of pilgrims has already recorded a new high.
