Controversial gut-wrenching video of huge snake lifted by crane goes viral

New Delhi: For around two weeks now, a video has been going around the internet which shows a huge snake being lifted by a digger out of its rainforest abode. The video has left million of netizens in awe owing to the size of the snake.

Meanwhile, some news articles have even speculated the serpent to be the world’s largest. Since the share of the video, often it has been incorrectly reported that the snake was found in Jharkhand.

The video was shared on social media where it has been claimed that the huge snake was discovered in FCI Sindri in Dhanbad, Jharkhand.

Rajya Sabha member Parimal Nathwani took to Twitter to share the gut-wrenching video captioning it as, “Massive! It took a crane to shift this #python weighing 100 kg and measuring 6.1 m length, in Dhanbad, Jharkhand.”

He is one of those who posted the video on social media platforms with claims that the snake was found in Jharkhand.

On the contrary, The Mirror reported that while clearing the part of Dominica rainforest, the workers found the huge serpent. Initially, the video was shared by TikTok user @fakrulazwa and the video was viewed over 79 million times over the platform. Another video shared by the user shows that people are struggling to fit the snake inside a car.

Besides, NBTBihar fact-checked and confirmed that the snake was not found in Jharkhand. The local administrators in Dhanbad also clarified that no such incident of lifting a snake by JCB machine was done rather no snake was found in any part of the district.
