Head has scored 2 half-centuries in this year’s T20 WC campaign, including a standout 76(43) against India. However, despite an exceptional innings, the 30-year-old batsman was not able to take Australia over the threshold. Eventually, Australia was eliminated from the T20 World Cup 2024.

Head climbed up by 4 places from the 5th position to become the No.1. Suryakumar Yadav, Phil Salt, Babar Azam, and Mohammad Rizwan got down one spot each making the top 5.

Head’s outstanding performance makes him the 2nd highest run scorer in the tournament so far, after Afghanistan’s Rahmanullah Gurbaz (281 runs in 7 innings). However, since Australians have been eliminated from the tournament Surya and others have their share of chances to surpass Head.
