New Delhi: After landing into controversy for making sexist comments about Indian actress Aishwarya Rai, ex-Pakistani cricket Abdul Razzaq has once again grabbed the spotlight over his remarks on India’s heartbreaking loss against Australia in the finals of ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.

Just days after Razaaq said sorry for his words about the Bollywood actress, he once again irked the Indians with his recent statement that he gave while speaking on a Pakistani Television show Harna Mana Hai.

While speaking on the channel, Razzaq said that he was Joyed to see India losing against Australia in the World Cup.

He further added that India’s loss in the tournament’s final came as a victory of cricket as the blue team took unfair advantage of their home conditions which helped them win games during the group stage of the tournament.

“Had India won today, cricket would have been on India’s side” Today, cricket has shown India that it favours the one who gives their best in the field. I would have been very sad if Australia lost today.” said the former cricketer in his statement.

One user wrote, “Afghanistan bashed his team and he is talking about India which at least made it to the finals.” Another one commented, “He’s right to some extent.. it was a poor pitch.”

A third user added, “Some random stupid fellow. Let’s ignore them now.”

Mohammad Amir speaks in India’s favour

Notably, ex-Pakistani pacer and Champions Trophy 2017 hero Mohamad Aamir, who was also a part of the show, spoke in India’s favor and said that at least India played in the finals. He said, “Mere liye jo teams final khel jati hai wo hi winner hai” (For me, the two finalists are the winners).

Australia defeats India to Lift 6th ICC ODI World Cup Trophy

After winning the toss, the Australian skipper Pat Cummins took a brave decision of fielding first in the high-pressure final encounter between India and Australia.

The Australian bowlers proved their caption right and silenced the 1,30,000 crowd of the Narendra Modi Stadium by bowling out team India on a below-average score of 240 runs in 50 overs.

While Indian bowlers tried their best to bring the team back into the game by getting 3 quick wickets and dismantling the Aussie top order, Travis Head and Marnus Labuschange stitched a record partnership of 192 runs and completely took the match out of India’s hands.

Finally, Glenn Maxwell scored the winning run as Australia defeated India with 6 wickets to lift the ODI World Cup Title for the 6th time.
