Dhoni hung up his boots @ 19:29 PM on Aug 15

On the evening of August 15, the entire cricket fraternity was left stunned as Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who last played for India in July 2019, announced his sudden retirement from international cricket.
“Thanks a lot for ur love and support throughout. from 1929 hrs consider me as Retired,” the former India captain wrote.

There are several theories floating on social media about why Dhoni exactly chose the time of 19:29 for the biggest decision of his career.

It has been 4 days since Dhoni took the decision, but the cricket fans as well as experts are busy decoding the message.

Fans may keep striving to decipher as to why the most successful cricketer chose to said goodbye to cricket at a particular time. Only thing can be said that – the master has his own trademark style.

When Dhoni sang ‘Main Pal Do Pal Ka Shayar Hoon’

During one of the events for the Indian Army, Dhoni also explained why the song was so special to him. “Kishore Kumar is my favourite but this song was sung by Mukesh Ji. The song is also very relevant if you see my sport. The lyrics – Main Pal Do Pal Ka Shayar Hoon – suggests tomorrow somebody else will turn up who will play better than me, many other people will emerge who will see better than you. It doesn’t matter if somebody remembers you in the future or not.”
