Last year, 'Man Vs Wild with Bear Grylls and PM Modi' episode disrupted the Indian media landscape, establishing itself as the TV event of the year.

PM Modi also said that this one episode of Man vs Wild helped him reach out to a massive number of young people across the globe who follow the programme.The TV episode featuring PM Modi was aired on August 12 and has been viewed by a record number of audiences.

The special edition of Discovery Channel's popular show -- Man Vs Wild -- featuring Prime Minister Modi with adventurer Bear Grylls lived up to its billing to emerge as the TV show of the year.

The Prime Minister had said that he took this as an opportunity to showcase India's rich flora and fauna and emphasise on environmental conservation. PM Modi and host Grylls will also be seen building a raft to cross a jungle river together.

Man Vs Wild With Bear Grylls and Prime Minister Modi will premiere simultaneously on 12 Discovery channels in India on August 12 and will be showcased in as many as 180 countries.

In the video, Bear Grylls is seen leading PM Modi through Uttarakhand’s Jim Corbett National Park, while giving him lessons on “survival” in the wild.

The news was confirmed by Grylls on Twitter, who said that he met PM Modi in India and discussed "awareness about animal conservation & environmental change", in the episode.
