The Samajwadi Party and the AAP held two separate press conferences on Sunday alleging corruption in the acquisition of the piece of land by the Ram mandir trust in March this year. The Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust general secretary Champat Rai has, however, dismissed the allegations, calling them politically motivated.
Ayodhya Mayor Rishikesh Upadhyay called it a political conspiracy.
He said, “I am a witness in a lot of deals. The deal was made years back. The trust will explain all this. The people who have objected have an issue with Lord Ram. One can check what the market rate is.”
