Government likely to bring law against deepfakes and misinformation

New Delhi: The Government is likely to bring a law to deal with the deepfakes and misinformation. Union Minister of State and Technology said that although the internet and AI are empowering, they are being misused to cause harm and chaos in society. ‘Deepfakes’ are a very important, clear and present danger to Indian Internet users. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also expressed concern over the misuse of Artificial Intelligence to create deepfakes and said that Media can play a big role in creating awareness.
