Lojja OTT Release Date: Hoichoi will begin offering streaming services for Lojja on March 22, 2024, and will continue to do so thereafter.

New Delhi: Lojja (which means Shame) is a web series in Bengali that features Priyanka Sarkar as the main character. The purpose of the series is to bring attention to the problem of verbal abuse and its effects on women’s lives, both at home and at work.

Lojja is Hoichoi’s newest Bengali drama series, perfect for quenching your thirst this month. Aditi Roy, whose previous work includes the critically acclaimed films Bodhon and Noshtoneer, directs the drama series with her signature style and insightful societal satire. This month, Lojja will be released, based on a revolutionary study article by Samragnee Bandopadhyay.

Plot

An ordinary Bengali woman named Jaya Sinha runs an upper-middle-class home in Lojja. Her world is flipped upside down the minute she chooses to stand up for herself. From frequent insults to continuous mental agony in both public and private settings, her spouse Partha’s verbal abuse has been a continual source of misery for her.

Following a night of intense pursuit through the deserted streets of Kolkata by the explosive Partha, Jaya decides to stand firm after much introspection while confined to her bedroom. When that happens, things start to become tough. After seeing Jaya’s tenacity and will, the lawyer she hires—played by Koneenica Banerjee—comes to believe in and back her client’s vision and needs.

Despite facing societal judgment, public shaming, disdain, and even insults and chastisement from her own family, Jaya remained resolute. Whether she receives the dignity and independence she deserves will be shown in further detail throughout the series.
