Afghanistan’s Qualification overview

A match of Super 8 was played between Afghanistan and Australia. Afghanistan registered a historic win over the Kangaroos. With this win, Rashid Khan and Co. is still alive in the race for semis. If India defeats Australian side on 23rd June, and Afghans need to defeat Bangladesh in their last Super 8 match, they could easily qualify.

However, if India lose to Australia then it would be Important for Afghanis to beat Bangladesh by a good margin. And then the team with better Net Run Rate (NRR) will qualify for the semi final stage.

At the moment India has the best NRR in group 1 (+2.425), Australia in the 2rd spot (+0.223), while in the 3rd place its Afghanistan (-0.650) and Bangladesh (-2.489) is in the 4th position.
