‘Jailer’ Advance Booking: Rajinikanth’s flick smashes BO in pre-ticket sales, beating ‘Gadar 2’ & ‘OMG 2’

Jailer, starring Rajinikanth, has earned $802,628 (about Rs 6.64 crore) in advance booking sales from the American market.

New Delhi: Jailer, an action-packed extravaganza starring the incomparable Rajinikanth, has finally begun its countdown to release. Nelson Dilipkumar, the film’s skilled director, has worked his magic, and the picture will be released on August 10 in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi, giving moviegoers across the world something to look forward to.

Jailer, produced by Sun Pictures, has been receiving rave reviews from viewers all around the world. Expectations are sky-high because of projections of a huge rollout in India and outside.

The film’s August 9th US release date has already generated significant buzz and pre-sales. Jailer, starring Rajinikanth, has earned $900,000 (about Rs 7,50 crore) in advance booking sales from the American market.

Business Today reports that as of August 8th, the film has sold over 6,12,000 tickets through the BookMyShow app. According to Sacnilk, solely in advance bookings, the film made over Rs 3.46 crore in Chennai and Rs 4.70 crore in Bengaluru, for a total of around Rs 12.83 crore in India.

According to Sacnilk, Jailer is projected to have a gross opening in India of roughly Rs 45 crore and a net opening of around Rs 38 crore.

With these figures, Rajinikanth’s Jailer has far surpassed the pre-sales of both Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 and Akshay Kumar’s OMG 2. Opening day ticket sales in India for Gadar 2, starring Sunny Deol, were over 250,000, while those for OMG 2 were approximately 26,000.

On its first day, Gadar 2 may earn between Rs 30 crore and Rs 35 crore, while OMG 2 is expected to earn approximately Rs 82 lakh at the box office.

Ramesh Bala, an expert in the film industry, predicts that the Jailer has the power to have the highest opening weekend gross of any Tamil movie ever in 2023, both in India and abroad.
