New Delhi: One of the most talented and biggest Film makers of Tollywood Harish Shankar is celebrating his birthday today. The legendary director and story teller was born on 31st March 1979 in Telangana. He was raised in the BHEL Township of Hyderabad. He studied at the Usmania University and has a younger sister and brother.

Harish Shankar is known for his works in Telugu cinema and Telugu theater. He made his directorial debut in 2006 with the film ‘Shock’, the film was produced by Ram Gopal Varma. He has directed some of the award wining films of Tollywood like ‘Gabbar Singh’ and ‘Mira Pakay.

‘ The film ‘Gabbar Singh’ made over 150 crores worldwide. The Telugu Film Maker was deeply influenced by the works of Yandamuri Veerendranath’s works. He was associated with director Ram Gopal Varma, Kona Venkat Puri and Jagannadh.
