J&K DDC results: BJP and NC win 32 seats each, PDP trails with 17 seats; Counting underway

BJP has won 32 seats followed by Independents with 28 seats. J&K NationalConference has bagged 32 seats, Peoples Democratic Party 17, Congress 11, J&K Apni Party 7. CPI(M) has won 5 seats while J&K Peoples Conference 3 seats and JKPM 2. J&K Panthers party won one seat.

New Delhi: Lotus has eventually bloomed in the Kashmir valley, with BJP candidate winning a DDC seat in Srinagar. This comes as huge achievement for the saffron party as it opens its account in the valley.

Counting of votes is still underway but the results given clear indication of what one can expect by end of the day.

So far, results of 138 DDC seats out of 280 seats have been declared. BJP has won 32 seats followed by Independents with 28 seats. J&K National

DDC elections was the first democratic exercise in the Union Territory after Jammu and Kashmir’s special status under Article 370 was revoked last year and was subsequently reorganised into 2 UTs viz Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh Union Territory.

J-K DDC elections: Voting for final phase underway

There are 140 DDC seats in Jammu, 14 in each district across the region that recorded heavy turnout of voters in the just concluded polls.

All the results are expected by late night as Ballot boxes were used in these polls.
